Two requirements for unemployment benefits:

1. Resident in the state (straight meaning: whether residing in the state, nothing to do with immigration status).

2. Job in the state.

Unstated requirement: you lose your job in an unvoluntary manner (not like just walk out of the door, just don't want to do that anymore).
