请教：基因专业有前途吗？

孩子选了基因专业。可是在三年级暑期到时实验室打工后，意识到研究工作又累挣钱又少，表示坚决不做研究工作。请问这里有经验的人，这个时候改学什么专业好，即不浪费所学的课程，有能学到实用技能，毕业后工作机会好？
