it is simply just different views.
if you use .net/visual studio, Jbuilder, or IBM visual age … those development tool suites, create a single project fame without any function be over hundreds or even a thousand lines. When he talked about lines of code, it might not be about what you actually wrote rather than the size of the project, with many redundant modes and codes copy over and over and many comment/testing/debugging codes too. This question seems more on how big the project you have been involved rather than how many line you actually wrote. Many of the enterprise projects can be like that, with borrow, buy, copy modes and codes from everywhere. Personal coding style also may vary, I had an old American developer, who would write a few hundreds line of code with only a few lines really doing the work and all others for unreasonable exceptions….. He used to work for defense:-):-)
