It depends...
Sometime the Agent get payed by the employer, say 30% of the annual salary of the candidate. So there is NO salary cut or expense from the prospective employee.

Sometime, if you work for the Agent's company and the Agent company get payed from the client company. In this case, a fraction of your salary will be cut by the Agent.
