you should be able to make a case to HR: Why were you able to perform with other managers but not the current one? It obviously is not all your fault. It could also be caused by your manager's management style or personal prejudice, etc... If you can make the case, you can ask to be transferred to other group.
Second,work out an action plan with specific steps to improve on whatever your boss think you are not doing well. Have a meeting with him to review each step in the plan. Send him a email on the meeting summary. Then update him frequently in email on each action you've taken and ask for his feedback. You need to have a trail of record to prove to HR that you have been working on improving yourself.
Take some actions. The end result cannot be worse than what you are expecting now.
Last but not the least, learn to appreciate yourself even when no one else does. Make a list of what you've accomplished at home and at work everyday. Recite it to yourself. Then speak it out to your boss and your family. Value yourself. Then you'll start to make other people appreciate you.
