If you move to the states, you can get a US license with your canadian one(they will take it)

2.该哥们建议我在washington租房住，给了我一个网址。不过该网址不提供我想要的租房方式，比如，有中国人租了3室一厅的房子，我租其中一间，有中国人买了房子，我租其中一间（这两种方式在加拿大很常见，不知在美国可行不。）
An easy way is to find some university near your work place, join their Chinese students group and you will find more room information.
