Life are full of ups and downs, wish you will doing OK.
Nice to see all our friends did care of you and did post so many advices.
If possible, you may try to do a transfer of group (if there is a nother group need people), yes, this is something you can ask your big boss and it is doable. This is the best way to get the paycheck back on track.
If this is not work, then, start looking.
Again, life is full of ups and downs, wish you be strong.
Many years later, look back this story, you will be gald to say you did gain experience from this process and make your life better.
