If an underperforming fund closed, people might be laid off imediately, as most hedge fund are lean and usually can't find position in other team fro you in short period of time.
In current market enviroment, more and more funds are under pressure. But if you have green card, double income and don't live on paycheck-by-paycheck, should give a try.
