Good article! However, I do think you have to call this is a failure in your life! You have tried your best, and something is really out of your control, so you might not get want you want. That is life; however, as you already found, there are a lot things beautiful and enjoyable in life other than career life ...

Also, even in career life, promotion, money and senior executive title are NOT the most important things ... So, cheer up and make yourself another goal and then try your best to achieve that ...
