所以让我先分析HR的偏好, for middle-level jobs or some entry-level jobs(it depends on the job deion):
For Candidates:
1. Age-younger than 30. Since most IT careers are demanding, candidates over 35 are not very welcome unless they have strong skills.
2. Male name-less trouble. HRs show no strong interest for females unless her skills are tempting.
3. Well-known schools and strong background/skills that company needs.
4. 2 years' experience is preferred.
5. Recommended by a reliable person inside/outside the company. HR prefers first try to find someone referred by insiders. Because recruiting is time-consuming and expensive, they would use advertisement as their last method to get candidates.
所以找工作的目标和策略很重要:
1. Don't only target on big company. They are very picky. There are some small organizations/companies. They will offer more job opportunities for
ordinary people.
2. Focus on entry-level position-you can prove yourself later.
3. Start from some part-time jobs or volunteer jobs. You can build your resume in this way.
4. Start to network. It means to meet other people who are professionals in CS field in order to share information, help each other, etc. You can use informational interview. Meanwhile, you can try to find some face-to-face chances to sell yourself. Or you can use email or Tel, but try to be well-prepared.
5. Keep learning new skills everyday.
6. Spend at least 8 hours in job search everyday if you are unemployeed.
7. Be positive and nice to others.
8. Never give up.
Just my two cents. Any comments are welcome!
