You need fully understand what your boss want you to do

Regardless what you are thinking or planing of your job, you need FULLY understand what is the goal your boss anticipated you to reach for the job.
Every minute of your effort should towards deliver the thing you boss want you to do, NOT what you think you should do.

Spend time talk with her, understand the priority, deliver the result she want.
