Take the offer and negotiate a try-out period (3-6 months) for the possibility of promoting to the senior position. But be specific on the terms that draw the full picture of a "perfect" senior analyst. Nothing more. Nothing less. And your pay scale should be adjusted accordingly if you make the cut. Confidence is very important to one's performance at work. A detailed plan to achieve your goals would be the icing on the cake.
