My boss takes me to dinner, or lunch, or breakfast, or coffee break all the time when he needs to talk with me about work. Of course this is because both of us have a very busy schedule. By the way, my boss is over 60.

Maybe you have a difference situation. I just want to say, talking about work over a meal or snack is very common.
