-- No matter how good your are technically, all the work you did should credit to your boss's account.
-- If your great technical idea is contradicted with your dumm boss and you are 100% sure that your dumm boss is wrong this time, you still respect your boss. But politely email to him and do state what is your plan and CC to the team member. This way, you will get coverred once the project is going wrong by following the dumm boss's idea.
