The point is you do what you need to do to protect yourself

The point is: you do what you need to do to protest yourself.
It may or may not change the VP's idea after the talk, but you need to do what you whould do to protect yourself and tell VP the fact from your side.
Communication is important.
It is not necessarily to change their, but at least let them know YOU FELL it is NOT fair. They will know that for SURE after the talk.
