Usually companies are very prudent of hiring someone >45 years for a non-management or junior position. Therefore, there is almost no point that you go back to school for another degree -- you would be treated as "freshly graduated" in that field. From your deion, I guess you have experience mainly in academic environment instead of industry. I understand with your high education and little industrial experience, it's hard to find an ideal job in some cities. Have you considered moving to another cit/state and look for a job in biotech industry? There are more opportunities in SF, LA or boston area.
