financial advisor

我是生物医学方面的博士后，最近在找工作。有家公司发邮件说有financial advisor的位置，问我愿不愿意试一试。
我也不知道我的简历怎么就到了那个公司。这个领域对我来说非常陌生。
请问这个位置具体做什么工作，对我这样没有半点金融背景的人来说很困难吗？我都30多了，就怕学起来心有余而力不足。再说的我的英语口语不是很流利，也会受影响吧。
