With his workload and the level his is in, he should be paid on 130-150k scale.
However, if I were him, I'll leverage the pay and health - it's not worthy it. Human are not like a diesel engine which can run "forever", it does run out before you know it.
Don't say anything, just start to look for other opportunities. He might end up with higher pay with less work. Good luck!
