I hired 4 guys in the last 2 years ( EE fields). In general, I did receive more resumes from India than any other ethnic group and I refused all of them. Apparently, every candidate that I invited for on-site interview has a good story if she/he did not receive the offer.

The best engineers are
A. Japanese,
B. Chinese from Southern Asia such as Burma or Malasyia.
C. Taiwanese

The worst engineers are
A. Vietnamese
B. Chinese from mainland.

Indians are not counted since I don't give a damn towards them.

One of my elder labmates (Kaucasian) chatted with me once about hiring. He won't hire any fresh graduates. They act in general like A-hole demanding a lot and contribute very little at least in the beginning, the stuffs they learned in school are garbage or considered trash papers in most cases. In resume, the most important section is your reference section. He tends not to give a glance at the publication section. If he can't recognize anyone in your reference section, you automatically out of the process. If he did find one in reference section, he will call that person and his/her opinion on you pretty much decides whether he grants you a on-site interview or not. The positions he talks about are hot positions of course.

I especially like Chinese from Southern Asia. They have discipline, do what I tell them to do and rarely sneak away if nobody watches them.
