Salary vs. Hourly Pay

本人近日正在申请一个Senior Manager的职位，面试两次，各大小manager全见了一遍，双方感觉都不错。最后General Manager和我谈待遇时问我可不可以考虑接受hourly pay。因为我的要求薪水比较高（六位数），按Salary的话要请示他的老板(VP)，因为Salary Pay算做Fixed Cost。这样有可能被VP打回来。如果我肯接受Hourly Pay，他就有权决定，可以给我要求的数字。他讲的很诚恳，但我从未被Hourly Pay过，实在不知其中是否有其他trick。望诸位学兄学姐指点。（注，此为一上市公司下属二十几个工厂中的一个，大约有二百人）。
