This will solely be your boss' decision. It is his idea and you happen to be the employee working on his idea. I do not think you can substantiate an arguement, unless you did contribute scientifically, not just technically, then you can argue that part of the invention is based on your idea.
Actually, the patent will not help you or your boss money wise. The company will hold all patents generated by its employees. Your boss may get one dollar if the patent is filed and granted. In some companies, the one dollar will be granted when the patent is sold. So why bother?
