Broker itself also has additional insurance.

Fido has more additional insurance than Schwab.  Fido gives EACH account's coverage while Schwab only gives a lum sum for ALL accounts at Schwab (everyone's not just yours.)  There is no way to know how much each account's additional insurance amount is at Schwab.
