Well, I still believe we should do all we can to direct outsourcing business to China. If I have a choice, I'd always want to help China go global. But realize that China's outsourcing industry is very fragmented and seriously lack project integration skills. PM is another problem. The skill sets in China are good, pretty impressive in some cases, but their communications skills suck, all the way up to top management. One thing you need to keep in mind is that build discipline into the contract. Don't be wishy-washy because you are dealing with fellow Chinese. You are ultimately responsible for the deliverables, so the financial burden is on you. Do your homework, pay them onsite visit, ask for references, read trade magzines, such as the recent outsource souce book published by CMP Media. Jumping into deals too fast might cost you a lot of heartaches.
