You obviously dont know the industry. 5 billion is asset under management (AUM), these are clients' money. Hedge fund stake is not monetizible unless the fund goes public.

Also, it is quite common that a hedge fund has different strategy funds under its umbralla, I never said I own 15% of the equity interest in a 5 billion master fund.
