艺术家的性格

日语里有一个相似的表现，汉字写成艺术家肌。性格听上去可塑性挺强的，而“肌”既然是皮肤那么就是与生俱来的，不那么容易改变。两年前，当我决定重新开始画画时，我找到了在 town art center 教授人物画的俄罗斯画家PG. 象art center这种社区性组织虽然不用交什么地税什么的，但日常的运营还是要些经费的。学生的学费是这个center的主要收入。所以，当我看到PG的class需要先看portfolio的时候，好奇心驱使我报了他的班。PG的写实功夫承传了俄罗斯的绘画传统，有很多可圈可点的地方。他教学生很卖力。更难的的是，他作为一个资深的艺术创作者对材料呀工具呀都有很好的建议。让我少走了不少弯路。PG很看重画人体的练习。由于受到经费等等的限制，center不可能雇佣人体模特。PG就上了一些成人网站下载了一些图片让我们就着图片练习。说实话，他下载的图片都是可以pass艺术人体的。我画着也没有觉得有什么不妥（当时不知道这些图片的来历）。然而突然有一天，我收到了center的director的email告诉我PG被雷了，我的class将要有一位新老师。这位老师有如何如何好。我赶紧打电话去问班上另一个学员怎么回事。问了半天，这个学员才吞吞吐吐地告诉我班里有人向director打小报告说PG的人体图片是从成人网站上下载下来的。PG在center已经教了很多年，口碑非常好。通常center的class都不会满员，只有PG的class学生常常要被waitlist. 失去PG就意味着center会失去很多收入。本来PG只要听从director的，放弃自己的做法就不会被雷，但他一心一意要向director说明他的做法是正确的。不仅如此，他还找到了一个有Standford英文PHD的学员帮他润色他给director的信。结果双方的争执越演越烈，最后导致他自己被解雇了。我想PG的本意还是挺想留住自己的工作的，但他的艺术家肌不让他妥协。很久都没有和PG联系了，听说他把他和director的email做成了一个installation的作品。
