暖气/空调管道独立的townhouse，租客说这两天闻到intake vent有cigarette smoke的味道，会是怎么回

两个星期前新换了 water heater。会和这个有关吗？

这个涉及到安全问题，不敢掉以轻心，但是又实在没有idea会是什么原因。不管是furnace 还是water heater，如果有burn的气味，跟抽烟的味道还是不一样吧？租客两人都不抽烟，这两天他们好像也没发现有邻居在外面抽烟。会是什么可能的原因呢？
