But you have to ask yourself a question, what will you do when the apartment you bought is worth half what you have paid for?  For example, the apartment costs $2M, you have put down 50% which is $1M and borrowed the other 50% from a bank.  If the property value drops to $1M, what will you do?  If you can answer that, then buy that apartment.
