The target funds are good choises for non experience investors or for someone too busy to manage the investments.   They have balanced approach to the target retirement ages.  Personally, I think that the target funds are not flexible enough for my investment strategies.  They really are fund over funds.  Rather let someone to choose the % allocation for me, I would like to do it myself.  But you are correct, they are suitable for most investors.  Actually, for the past 10 years, they have been added to a lot of companies' 401K plan.  Thank you.
