请教一个波士顿租房问题

学生租房八月底到期，不续了。房东招租来人看房只提前数小时打招呼。写电邮给房东要求24小时通知。房东不答应。这是房东的回复：

24 hours notice isn't required per your lease. Sometimes prospective tenants don't confirm an appointment more than 24 hours in advance, in which case we try to give as much notice as possible (like I did this evening).

I won't come by tomorrow, but in the future a full 24 hour's notice isn't always possible.

有一个室友气得想上法庭打官司。我不了解麻州租房法律细解。求建议。
