short是空。但short squeeze是指借股卖出去的人（看空的人）因股票上涨太多，急忙买回股票来还（股票）。这种大家急忙（squeeze)作的事情，往往导致股票价格的剧烈波动。

由于margin的运用和机器代替人的操作（预先设定好的价格），现代股市的价格波动往往会在很短时间之内发生。这就是为什么工薪阶层的人要远离炒股，尤其不能用margin/或玩option一类。当然，你要玩心跳是另外一回事。
