6th grader's difficulty with Math.

My daughter is in 6th grade in a decent public school (Rank 10 out of 10 in CA).  Her Math grade ranges from A- to A.  But her math is pretty bad!  She makes a lot of mistakes in really basic stuff.  She also shows she's not solid in concepts.  Both my hu*****and and myself find it hard to understand what is the problem with her because Math was an easy subject for us when we were in school.  We are trying to give her some help with Math, but she complains that it exceeds what she's taught at school, and she doesn't enjoy learning more.  

So my question is: is this her genes or the environment?  Too many distractions?  Not made to be good at Math?  What can she do to make a living if she's poor at Math?
