my tenants hate the person down stairs. she pour water along the balcony/building connection. so the unit below got water stain in the ceiling. i filed an insurance claim for the unit below. my insurance co said I'm not liable. so did not pay a cent. anyone knows the rules insurance co use to make decisions? 

in ur case, the best way to handle it is let your insurance co involve. if you file a claim, they have to handle it. don't ask them. just file the claim. good luck.
