房检牵引出的问题，Unvented (Spray Foam) Attic ？

房检了个百年老房，阁楼今年刚装修过。inspector 说这屋顶只有ridge　vent不够排气.我们把问题丢给了屋主，屋主找了之前的contract询问，他们的回复是用了比较新的技术　

The insulation was installed as required by code section 101.4.3 to an R-34 open cell (which is a full cavity in a 2X8)

The enclosed envelope is a very common practice in the building industry which had been around for over 4 years. It is most commonly referred to as a hot roof. The best example of a hot roof is a typical box retailer like lowe’s. These buildings have 6-8” of foam on the flat roof deck.

我们在网上做了些research,也没找到太多异议，普遍看到反映比较节能。将问题继续丢给inspector，希望他能确定一下。结果，他还是坚持自己的意见。这边这方面的专业人才比较多，想听听大家的意见。

我们在的地区是半年冬天的美国东北部。
