How to treat German roaches?

Tenant moved out and left me a big German roach problem. They are everywhere, and a lot of eggs too. The pest control guy said that I need to treat for 6 months and it's not guaranteed. I am thinking to use Combat source kill small roach baits. I used them many years ago and they were amazingly effective. Any suggestions and recommendations? Thanks a lot!
