I plan to buy another house as my primary home, then rent out the current house.  The current one has $300K gain in it.
I think the housing price is still increasing, thus will keep it for three years.

Three years later, sell the rental, realize 500K gain without paying tax.

Two more years, sell the second house, get another 500K gain without tax.
