on the car, agree with many here..... just point A to point B thing... why drive some sales pitch off the lot and lose immediate 10% of its value.
reliability and safety.... all the other bells and whistles, you get excited for the first couple of weeks, then you don't even notice them.
and the travel thing - I think it's necessary tool for kids to experience as a life skill for independent living.... but lot of times traveling thousands of miles to a tourist trap and take a couple of postcard pictures, while in the process of totally exhausting ones self, seems totally missing the point.
