I've never had any email

commmunication with teachers that is without a proper salutation,even when it's quite informal and is on first name basis.

To me, email or letter without salutation is straigh-out rude.

I also have reservations about people who tend to use exclamation marks often. I think it's an indication of "vocabulary dificiency".
