请不吝指教

今天有一对老夫妻想给他们的儿子租房子住。在申请表上，老夫妻填了自己的名字，儿子没有作为申请人在申请表格上出现，只是在后面的comments 一栏里，说了是给儿子住的。不知道这种情况该怎么处理才比较合适？俺的房子远离学校，从来没有学生来申请过，所以这样的情况还是头一回遇到。希望有类似情况的地主讲讲需要注意的地方，本长老不胜感激。
