GQ Profiles Jeremy Lin, Makes Knicks Fans Cry
Well, there he is. Our hope, our future, our point guard — Jeremy Lin. Your FishbowlNY editors are big Knicks fans, so the cover made us misty eyed. Then the profile of Lin by Will Leitch, well, it pushed us over the edge. In the feature, Lin tells Leitch that he loved the fans and the city so much that he wanted to retire a Knick:
I know it’s kind of silly to talk about it with only two years under my belt in the league, but going in before free agency, I was like, ‘I want to play in front of these fans for the rest of my career.’ I really did. I really wanted to play in front of the Madison Square Garden fans for the rest of my career, because they’re just unbelievable.
Oh Jeremy! We miss you too! It wasn’t us, we wanted to keep you! It was our evil, terrible owner James Dolan who let you go.
We hope life treats you kind, and we hope you have all you’ve dreamed of. And we wish you joy and happiness… But above all this, we wish you love… And weeeee… Will always love yoooooou… Weeeee… Will always love yoooooooooou!!!!
