I believe you have put the cutting board in dish washer to clean

Most of the cutting boards we buy are made of composite materials (other than the plastic one).  When you put in the dish washer, the boards will experience wet, dry and hot conditions which could degrade the glue materials that hold the wood or bamboo members over the time.  After a while, the cutting board will crack. My ex used to wash the cutting boards in dish washer, we had the same problem like you.  I bought a bamboo one from Big Lots (not a brand name).  After use, I just wash by hand and let it dry by placing in in upright position. The board has lasted more than 6 years and still in perfect condition.
