If you like smoothies, it worths to invest a good blender. I had Vitamix for a few years, bretty good experience. Vitamix is powerful, and tranditional design. The smoothies coming out from Vitamix is very similiar to the ones sold in stores. The good thing about the smoothies I like the most is that there is not too much foam. I really really hate foam in my smoothies.
Recently, I watched Blendtec ad, Blendtec is more fancy, a lot of functions and a lot of bottons. I like it too, just because I have Vitamix already, I won't buy Blendtec again. But if I didn't have Vitamix, I prefer Blendtec.
Only concern is that Blendtec is too fancy and many not be as durable as Vitamix.
