I think it is just different personality.

By original plan, I should be in Denver today for the skii trip. But there is some new activity opportunity for my child so I changed plan. I had not much interest on the skii trip anyway because of too much driving.

A few hours driving is ok. Anything more than 4 hours is stressful to me. Also I think travel is stressful enough already, no matter by driving, or airplan, I feel miserable if there is no good hotel to rest or good restaurant to eat on travel. It's totally different story when I was young. I still remember that I enjoyed my trip to Europe when I was in early 20's. Still in gradudate school and no money in my pocket. Spoke broken language, stayed in cheapest family hotel, ate in small restaurant whenever hungry, walked a lot and rode trains. I guess I cannot do it anymore.
