since many index funds, such as QLD,BGU, FAS,TNA, URE, DRN, also drop like crazy, you can switch SD to those ETFs. Suppose ETF will go with market, you will have much better chance to cover the loss caused by SD. Do not rely on any individual stocks to cover the loss since it is not necessary for them to follow the market, but ETF will do.
Of course, ETF might also go south at the same speed as SD, but as long as you hold them, there is alway a possibility for them to come back. Index almost always moves up in the past.
