中文的翻译有误差。看看wikipedia对gates妈妈的介绍。她和IBM总裁一起serve unitedway的board,而不是在ibm的board。United way is a charity organization... 这不能掩盖她是一个很成功的business woman,但信息不正确。

Mary Maxwell Gates (born Mary Maxwell on July 5, 1929 — June 10, 1994) was an American businessperson. Gates served 18 years (1975–1993) on the University of Washington board of regents.
