when the work is delayed, you have the best excuse. I have the same problem now that boss seems to be concerned that he does not show enough of his leadership role in my projects. he is excluding me from many of the interactions with other departments. I was annoyed, but then... you know if you can get the same money without worrying about anything, why not? Use the time to do something useful for yourself.
