If I were you, I would not follow up on this:
1. you have voiced your concern. everyone heard it. what they want to do is out of your control. the decision most likely is not only dependent on technical issues, more on political ones.

2. it is not your job anyway. You have done your part as a good employee by reminding the decision-maker of the potential issue. That is a very good job done. pushing your idea will back-fire. Knowing when to back-off is important.
