Home warranty is for appliance repairment/services (AC/Heater/Stove/washer/dryer/...). It is different from insurance for structure of your houses and demages caused by your home structure.
Normally, home warranty is good if you have old appliance. I have my AC fixed for $200 the first year I moved in with my home warranty. It costs about $4000 without warranty.
