1.老地基能否承受两层楼的重量，能再承受50年吗？

-- Need Structure Engineer calculate the weight and make the new foundation for the two story. Finally, you need add extra (加固) the old foundation, make it wider to support the two story, otherwise, cisy auditor will not approval your work.

2.能看到的缺点是将来地下室比较小只有1000平方尺，不过我们用是够了。那么还有什么其它缺点？将来再卖房子时会不会因为这个影响价格？会影响多少？
-- Depends on who will buy it.

3.盖起来的新房算是2010年的还是1950年的？若说是1950年建，2010年Remodel的，Property Tax会不会省很多？
-- 1950 if remodel.
-- 2010 if tear down the whole thing and rebuild.
-- Depends on which city, even if you keep a small wall and rebuild the whole thing, city will say you are building a new house, so increase your TAX. But you will keep all the receipt, argue with the city that you only spend this $$, and the TAX shouldn't be that high.

My suggestion is:
Before you start, go to visit the planing department and building department of your city, ask what is the building and land area ratio limited by the city. You can't build the area as you like.
Ask them the guide line of the home rebuild or remodel. They will give you the example material.
