I have a couple who both are over 60 years old (61 and 66). They both work as school teachers. Only two of them will live in a huge house (over 3500 sqft).
They said they foreclosed their own house last year, and plan to stay this area for 3 more yrs before their retirement. So they are long-term renters. The reason for them to move out now is their current rented property will be foreclosed soon by owner.
They filed out forms and gave me two month pay stub and references from employer and previous landlord. I have verified employment and salary, checked previous landlord, and had very good words. However, in their forms it said they have filed a bankruptcy (without date). Do you think this is because of foreclosure? I am afraid that it is too late to run a credit check as I didn’t ask when they applied.

I have scheduled to sign a lease this evening. Your input is highly appreciated
