关于孩子上大学之前几年的投资方向的问题请教

孩子3年后上大学。现在手里有些闲钱，是应该投入股市还是放在退休计划里？这两个投资方向将对孩子获得奖学金，助学金，贷款之类的有不同的影响吗？我是一无所知，请各位执教。 谢谢！！！
